I’ve always loved taking photographs, ever since I was a child in the 1970s. PhotoIt was rolls of film then, but I embraced digital. Most of the photos on this blog have been taken by me over the last five or six years, using digital cameras or mobile phones – so there’s a difference with pixel quality.I’ve increasingly developed a liking for macro shots, flower and outdoor photography from different perspectives. I am also learning to use my Lensbaby Trio 28 lens – which has three settings – sweet, twist and velvet -Here’s a selection:Search Trio 28 to find more of these shots.
The cameras I use are:
- Digital SLR: Samsung NX3000
- Olympus with Lensbaby Trio28 – sweet, twist and velvet effects

Mobiles
- Samsung A5 (2018),
- various Samsung Galaxy phones over the last few years.
- My husband’s mobile as its camera is much better than mine.
- Tablet: Sony Z3 Compact
The Lens’ I use:
My husband gave me a Lensbaby Trio 28 for my birthday in October 2018. I use it on his spare Olympus OM-D camera as it doesn’t fit my Samsung.I am getting the hang of the lens features:
- sweet –
- twist
- velvet
I’ve written about the effects before a couple of times.
My header photo is verbena flowers taken on an Autumn day in Manchester. No post effect editing – the ‘blur’ is from the lens on Velvet mode.
The tech I use:
Tripod: Joby 3kg Gollila – I wrap it around trees, garden structures, lampposts, etc.
I use a handgrip (with a bluetooth button) on my Mobile as it’s much easier to hold my phone when my arthritis pain is bad. There’s an added bonus that I can keep my gloves on in the Winter.
Photography Goals for 2018/19:
One of my goals for 2018/9 is taking some photography courses and getting some extra kit to make my life easier – inc a small tripod (d
I’ll be looking out for some photography challenges too.
