I try to get #OneHourOutside every day. I’ve often written about how being outside helps my mental health and wellbeing. I try to make sure I’m in the fresh air for at least an hour. Check out writing by Zoe from Splodz Blog who came up with the hashtag #onehouroutside. She’s a hill walker and outdoor adventurer.

She also organises the Outdoor Bloggers Group with Jenny Tulip www.outdoorbloggers.co.uk. I’ve been a member for a couple of years.I’m hoping to get more involved with this group and writing about more walks in 2018.
My #OneHourOutside
When I’m out and about I take the time to be mindful, to look carefully around me usually noticing flowers and plants, but it could be anything that takes my interest especially in urban areas. I take photographs sometimes and sometimes I don’t, posting to social media occasionally, and sometimes on the blog. I do note in my journal whether I’ve been outside for an hour.
When the weather is awful, throwing down with rain, for example, I walk to another building and eat my lunch looking through a window so I can see greenery.
I know my gardening blogger pals and gardening followers won’t have too much difficulty getting outside but I wonder whether they also get outside every day.

Cherry blossom on our street – #OneHourOutside April 2017
Cherry Blossom
For me, cherry blossom is one of the most amazing and wonderful parts of Spring. It makes my heart sing. This is my neighbour’s cherry blossom. It’s a dwarf tree which he tells me is about 15 years old.
‘Blossom by blossom the Spring begins’ – Allerton Swinburne, poet (1837-1909)
