We are looking forward to our annual camping weekend in September in the gorgeous Cheshire countryside, with our women’s institute pals. C and I have been learning a new craft over this year or so and wanted to run a workshop so others could have a go too.
We are now ready to share our skills and are running a workshop at our weekend away. The following approximately 2-hour workshop is available for Women’s Institute members who have booked a place at our camping weekend (Big-WIkender)
Our silver clay beginners workshop
We will explain how silver clay is made; the short answer is that it is recycled silver from the photographic industry.
Using stamps or textures – you will make:
- Pendant OR
- A pair of drop earrings
Some examples:

Have a look at the process:

How we learnt to make silver clay
C has taken evening classes on silversmithing. I first learnt to use silver clay at Denman College on a taster session and have been back for two full weekend courses.
This is the first time we have showed people how to do this gorgeous craft. If it goes well, we could do demonstrations at local Greater Manchester WI meetings.

Looking forward to seeing you all in Cheshire in a couple of weeks 😊

p.s. I have osteoarthritis in my fingers and this is still a simple, quick craft I can do with ease.
